Partners,” a term used to describe a multitude of the type of relationships we can share with people. “One associated with another, especially in action,” as Merriam-Webster defines it.
“Someone who participates in an activity or game with another person,” is how The Oxford English Dictionary identifies it.
The question for our company was how do we identify the term?
We defined it as an opportunity to establish and nurture a human connection on a global level.
On January 30th, 2016, the partnership between Vida Joven Orphanage and Global Equity Finance was established.
The Vida Joven Orphanage, located in Tijuana, is dedicated to housing, educating, and caring for 30 children between the ages of 2-16. Over a 3 month period, our staff teamed-up, planned, and fundraised a visit to the children at their home.
Over a few months, the staff at Global Equity Finance worked to raised money, shopped for the kids, and collected donations. Eagerly, volunteers stuffed the van with goodies for the children and made the trek across the border.
Along with new wardrobes, books, & toys, each child was given a box with their name painted on the lid. With the help of our volunteers, the children creatively, and adorably, decorated the box to represent things they liked.
Even though these children are dealing with great adversity, the fun brought to them by these simple gifts and activities inspired our volunteers. Their new messily painted boxes and sparkly fairy wings united us.
Building team & community relationships strengthened the already present sentiments of teamwork and support within the Global Equity Finance family.
